Writing Prompts That Get Great Results

6 min read easy3d.info Tutorial
The quality of your 3D model depends almost entirely on how you write the prompt. This guide shows you exactly what words to use — and what to avoid — to get detailed, accurate results every time.
01

Describe the Object, Not the Scene

Focus on one thing at a time. "A medieval iron shield with a dragon emblem, dented and weathered, round shape" works well. "A battlefield with soldiers and flags and a castle" will produce a confused result. One object per generation.

02

Always Include a Material

Material words dramatically improve output quality. Compare: "a sword" vs "a sword with a polished steel blade, leather-wrapped handle, and gold crossguard". The second gives the AI concrete visual information to work with.

03

Add a Shape Description

Use geometric language: angular, rounded, tapered, symmetrical, organic, cylindrical, flat-topped. Example: "a short wide cylindrical pot with two curved handles and a flat lid".

04

Name the Style

Style keywords guide the overall look. Try: sci-fi, medieval, cartoon, low-poly, realistic, steampunk, ancient, futuristic, Art Deco, Japanese minimalist. Example: "a futuristic sci-fi helmet with a visor, matte black with neon blue trim".

05

Specify the Condition

New or worn? Clean or damaged? "Brand new polished trophy" vs "old rusted lantern with cracked glass and patina" — condition language creates instant personality in your model.

06

The Formula That Works

Use this structure: [Style] + [Object] + [Material] + [Shape detail] + [Condition/colour]. Example: "Steampunk pocket watch, brass and copper, circular with exposed gears, aged and scratched surface, ornate engravings on the case".

Pro Tips

  • "Photorealistic" and "game-ready" are powerful modifiers — try adding them to any prompt.
  • Avoid vague words like "nice", "cool", or "pretty" — they add nothing. Be specific.
  • Too long is better than too short. 20-word prompts usually beat 5-word prompts.
  • If a detail is critical (like "exactly 4 legs"), repeat it or put it first.
